Most sportscars have some kind of relationship to motorsport. But none more than the Mitsubishi Lancer. The first ever model carrying this name tag, the A70, was making the base for the legend of the Lancer way back in the 70's. A legend that's now evolved into the so-called Evolution X. This current generation debuted in the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show as the Concept-X, and an evolved version, the Prototype-X, was displayed 2 years later. The Evolution X is a complete change from earlier Evolution models. Engine and gearbox are completely new for this generation. The only thing this car has in common with the previous Evolution models, are the raw figures: 2 liter turbopowered inline-4 engine producing, depending on region and version, up to 400 hp (FQ-400). The same model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, making it the ultimate 4-door speed machine.
